New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Tuesday afternoon, and amongst the winners was senior Erin MacDonell of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's cross country team who was named Runner of the Week.
MacDonell turned in a first-place finish at the 3rd Annual Friends and Alumni Meet hosted by SJC at Broadway Ave. Park (Sayville, NY) on Friday evening. MacDonell maintained a 6:15 average mile and posted a 4k time of 15:32.7. The defending Skyline Conference Runner of the Year finished 54.8 seconds ahead of the second scoring finisher at the event.
MacDonell and the Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, September 9 when they participate in the Purchase Invitational at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx. The women run at 9:30 am and the men at 10:00 am.
