The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 non-conference loss against the Pratt Institute to open the 2025 season on Thursday afternoon.

How it happened

• The Golden Eagles trailed after the Cannoneers swept doubles play to go ahead 1-0 in the match

• Junior Vincent Engel fell short in #4 singles to Shrenil Mahaveer, 6-4, 6-2

• In #5 singles, graduate student Ryan McNeely dropped the first set, 6-2, against Johnny Xie and bounced back with a 7-5 win in the second set, but ultimately lost with a 10-4 tie break
