The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's tennis team edged the University of Mount Saint Vincent, 4-3, in a tightly contested Skyline Conference matchup on Thursday afternoon.

How it Happened:
- St. Joseph's jumped out to an early advantage by taking two of three doubles matches. The duo of Chris Lally and Vincent Engel secured a 6-2 victory at #1 doubles, while Nolan Knipfing and Anthony Flaacomio followed with a 6-4 win at #2.
- Holding a 2-1 lead entering singles play, the Golden Eagles picked up three key victories to clinch the match. Lally earned a hard-fought three-set win at #2 singles (6-2, 3-6, 6-1), while Flaacomio delivered a strong straight-set performance at #4 (6-3, 6-1). Engel added another point with a 6-2, 6-4 win at #5 singles.
- Mount Saint Vincent kept things close with wins at #1, #3, and #6 singles, including a tightly contested three-set victory over Knipfing at the top spot.

- The Golden Eagles secured their first victory of the season.
