Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's volleyball team earned a 3-2 Senior Day victory over non-conference opponent Albertus Magnus College inside the Danzi Center on Tuesday evening.

Victory in the five-set thriller sees the Golden Eagles, who have won six of their last seven matches, improve to 12-13 on the year as the Falcons slip to 15-14.

Despite falling behind 24-20 in the first set, SJC rallied for six-straight points to earn a 26-24 come-from-behind victory and go up 1-0 in the match.

A 25-19 second-set win for the guests tied the match at one, but again in the third the Golden Eagles came from behind--this time down 23-19--and won the frame with another 6-0 set-ending rally (25-23).

Failing to wrap up the match in the fourth set, St. Joseph's, up 13-11 in the fifth, fell victim to a 4-1 run by the Falcons and were on the brink of defeat (15-14).

An Albertus Magnus service error gave the hosts life and paved the way for senior Claire Urizzo put SJC up 16-15 with her fourth kill of the match.

In an attempt regroup, Albertus Magnus used a timeout but an Ashley David attack error following the stoppage doomed the Falcons and clinched a 3-2 match victory for SJC.

St. Joseph's offense was powered by freshman Kaitlin Williams and junior Kristen Bohnenblusch, who put down nine kills apiece in the match.

Senior Jessica Monteserrato dished out a team-high 25 assists and junior Danielle Senecal, who leads the conference with 5.21 digs/set, was credited with a team-best 18 digs.

Seniors Keilly Estacuy and Urizzo collected 11 and 13 digs, respectively.

The Golden Eagles--who can clinch home-court advantage in the first round of the conference championship tournament--wrap up their 2017 regular season on Saturday, October 28 when they head to Sarah Lawrence College for a Skyline Conference tri-match with Mount St. Mary College (1:00 pm) and the Gryphons (3:00 pm).
