Bronxville, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's tennis team was handed a 7-2 defeat by Skyline Conference rival Sarah Lawrence College in a match played in Bronxville, NY on Wednesday evening.

With the loss the Golden Eagles fall to 0-2 on the year (0-1 Skyline) as the Gryphons improve to 2-0 (1-0 Skyline).

SJC wrapped up doubles play down 2-1 with the only victory coming via first doubles duo Kevin Lankowicz and Matt Dioguardo, who defeated Matias Sanchez and Ian Gonzalez 8-4.

After SJC dropped five consecutive singles match-ups, Dioguardo, playing at third singles, came back from down 7-5 in the pro-set match to defeat Gonzalez 7-2 in the tiebreaker for the 9-8 win.

The Golden Eagles continue conference play on Saturday, April 1 when the hit the road to face SUNY Purchase in a 1:00 pm match.
