Women's Tennis Falls to Yeshiva, 8-1, in Skyline Play

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team dropped its first conference game of the season on Sunday afternoon in an 8-1 loss to Yeshiva University at Binghamton Racquet Club in Edgewater, NJ. With the loss, the Golden Eagles fall to 1-1 (0-1 Skyline) on the year as the Maccabees improve to 2-0 (2-0 Skyline).

Bailey Frohlich and Michal Ladenheim took the first point for Yeshiva defeating Nora Burnett and Caroline Rina Mandaro in an 8-1 loss at the third court. Shani Hava and Rebecca Parker doubled the lead for the Maccabees winning their match 8-4 over Amanda Post and Victoria Panicola. Rachel Slater and Andrea Weiss completed the doubles sweep after edging out Alana Caporale and Lindsey Charrier in a tightly contested 8-9 (7-9) win for Yeshiva.

The Maccabees continued to dominate over at the singles court inching a point closer to victory after Frohlich took down Mandaro 6-0, 6-0. Ladenheim sealed the win for Yeshiva after defeating Erin Hickey in No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday Sept. 12, when they to take on Lehman College at 4:30 PM.
