Patchogue, NY| In only the program's second season of existence, the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's volleyball team clinched a Skyline Conference regular-season championship with a 3-1 defeat of the College of Mount St. Vincent on Sunday evening.

The Golden Eagles (21-8) wrap the season with a perfect 10-0 Skyline record and enter next week's championship tournament as the top seed. The Dolphins, now 13-14 overall and 8-2 in conference play, earn the second seed.

Powering an SJC offense that recorded 55 kills was sophomore Will Flohr, who put down a game-high 18 kills. The outside hitter was also credited with 11 digs and two aces.

Junior Danny McNamara recorded a team-best 13 digs.

St. Joseph's took set one, 25-16, with relative ease, but was met by a much tougher opponent in the second. The Dolphins rallied late to tie the score at 19, but it was the hosts that scored six of the frame's final nine points to hold on for a 25-22 win.

Mount St. Vincent jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third and kept SJC at arm's length en route to a 25-21 victory to cut its match deficit to one (2-1).

After dropping their first set in conference play this season, the Golden Eagles rebounded well in the fourth frame and a clinched 3-1 victory with a 25-17 win.

Overall SJC hit 26.5% while limiting the Dolphins to a .173 hitting percentage. The hosts also held edges in total digs (57-54) and service aces (8-1).

The Golden Eagles begin their quest for a Skyline Conference title on Thursday, April 12 when they host either St. Joseph's College (Brkln) or Yeshiva University in a semifinal match-up at 7:00 pm.
