Box Score Purchase, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's basketball team toppled SUNY Purchase, 73-48, in a Skyline Conference contest on Wednesday evening.
With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 6-2 overall and 4-2 in conference play as the Panthers slide to 0-7 and 0-5.
SJC was powered by sophomore Lanyah Ford, who scored a game- and career-best 20 points on 9-for-12 shooting from the field.
Junior Alyssa Adomaites contributed 17 points (7-for-11 FG) and Alyssa Signor went for 14 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
Junior Julianna Knice scored nine points and posted game-best totals for assists (6) and steals (4).
The contest was tied only once and the Golden Eagles never trailed. Up four at halftime, the guests outscored the Panthers 21-10 in the third quarter before clinching a 25-point victory.
SJC shot 45.5% from the field while limiting Purchase to a 28.3% field goal percentage and outscored the hosts 44-16 in the paint.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Thursday, December 9, when they visit Mount St. Mary for a Skyline Conference contest at 6:30 pm.
