The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's volleyball saw its season end with a 3-0 sweep in the Skyline semifinals at the hands of the top-seeded United States Merchant Marine Academy on Thursday evening.

Top performers

• Junior Madison Gremli recorded a team-best eight kills while picking up eight digs

• Senior middle Lauren Harmer added  six kills 

• Setter Katie D'Angelo tossed 21 assists and finished with nine digs

• Senior libero Kellianne Dempsey collected a team-high 10 digs

How it happened

• The Golden Eagles held its only lead in the first set at 6-4, but five unanswered USMMA points put the Mariners ahead 9-6 and they would go on to take the set 25-18 

• USMMA claimed the first eight points to start set two and cruised to a 25-13 win

• The third set saw SJLI inch to within two, 12-10, but the Mariners maintained their distance and went on to close out the match with a 25-15 set win

• As a team, USMMA hit .286 while holding the Golden Eagles to just .010

• The Mariners finished with 52 digs with SJLI picking up 40
