Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's basketball team took down Farmingdale State College 88-75 in a thrilling Skyline Conference contest in the Danzi Center on Thursday evening.

The win brings the Golden Eagles to a 14-8 overall record with an 11-8 Skyline mark. The Rams fall to 11-10 on the season, 9-9 Skyline.

The Golden Eagles were led by junior Alyssa Adomaites who put down 29 points on an 8-for-14 shooting performance from the field. Sophomore Lanyah Ford had a double-double with 23 points and a season-high 13 rebounds. Senior Alyssa Signor pitched in with 16 points while freshman Felicia Barreiros also finished in double figures with 11 points. Freshman Brianna Cordell was a force in the paint with 10 boards and a game-high six blocks.

Anna Zaborowska led the Rams knocking down 29 points and recording game-best 6 steals. The only other Ram in double digits was Layla Mendoza, who finished 15 points.

The first quarter advantage belonged to Farmingdale who saw their six-point advantage, 19-13, shrink in the final minute. A layup followed by a buzzer-beating three-pointer, both from SJC's Adomaites, brought the home team to within one, 19-18, heading into the second frame.

The second quarter was tightly contested, with 6 lead changes throughout. The Golden Eagles were up 37-35 with just under two minutes in the half but were unable to hold onto the lead. A triple from FSC's Zaborowska followed by a Stacy Papantoniou jumper gave the Rams a 40-37 advantage heading into the break.

An early 15-5 run from Farmingdale in the third quarter brought them to a 13-point lead, 55-42, their highest of the game. However, SJC went on a run of their own, outscoring the Rams 18-1 throughout the remainder of the third quarter giving the Golden Eagles a 60-56 lead heading into the final frame.

SJC pushed their lead to double-digits, 68-58, courtesy of a Ford three with less than eight minutes in the game. Farmingdale would get to within six, 64-70, but the Golden Eagles made 10 of 14 free throws in the final minute to secure the 13-point victory.

SJC shot 43.1% from the field while the Rams were held to a 36% shooting percentage. SJC also knocked down 46% from three, while Farmingdale only could manage 28% from beyond the arc.

The Golden Eagles close out the regular season when they travel to Yeshiva University for a Skyline Conference match-up on Saturday, February 19th at 8:30 PM.
