St. Joseph's found the back of the net in the 22nd minute as Owenburg put a ball back into the box that found the right foot of Pelaez at the top of the box, who put it away in the upper left-hand corner of the goal

As the first half came to a close Marco Mazzarelli of Mt. St. Mary found space for an opportunity that was sent away to keep by Vitale

In the opening minute of the second half, it was the Knights again who presented a chance to tie the game but again Vitale was there for the save

Late in the second half Diego Saravia was able to get off two different shots that were both saved by Martinez, which led to Sonny Farrell and Nicholas Mohaupt shots being blocked leaving SJLI with a one-goal lead

The 85th minute saw MSMC's last opportunity to tie the game as Peter Ramirez had a chance at a header off a far cross that Vitale saved to solidify the victory for St. Joseph's
