The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's soccer team cruised to a 12-0 victory over York on Sunday afternoon. 

Top performers

• Junior Vincent Mariani led the Golden Eagles with three goals

• Sophomore Nick Pensavalle recorded two goals

• Freshman Steven Gracia posted a game-high four assists 

• Seniors, James Dacos and Connor Owenburg, junior Anthony Ruopoli, and freshmen Jose Rojas Brandon Flaherty and Jacob Cusimano each scored one goal

• Junior Giuseppe Viitale secured the shutout in goal

• The Cardinal's Ahmed Algendy totaled a game-best seven saves

How it happened

• The Golden Eagles started off strong scoring three goals in the first ten minutes of the game with two coming from Pensavalle

• Mariani would help lead the push to end the first half as the forward found the back of the net twice 

• The second half scoring column opened up with a cross from St. Joseph's which saw a miscue from the Cardinals leading to an own goal 

• The final six goals scored came in the final 28 minutes of action that saw the Golden Eagles solidify the victory
