The St. Joseph's University-New York (L.I.) women's volleyball team posted a Skyline Conference sweep over Purchase College in the Danzi Center on Tuesday evening

Top Performers

• Sophomore Nina Vanderhoof led the Golden Eagles with a match-best 14 kills while hitting at a .429 clip. The middle added four digs, two aces and a solo block 

• Senior Jackie Wolf pitched in with 13 kills and nine digs

• Setters Lauren Goss and Katie D'Angelo tossed 24 and 10 assists, respectively

• Libero Sarah Montefusco picked up a 10 digs

How it happened

• The Golden Eagles held the Panthers to a -.079 hitting percentage in the opening frame with Wolf and Vanderhoof leading the attack with five kills apiece in the 25-18 win

• Purchase held a slight lead in the opening points of set two, but a dominant 21-5 SJLI run gave the hosts a 25-9 win and a 2-0 match lead

• The third set saw both sides tied at 10, but five unanswered points went in favor of the Golden Eagles creating some distance for the home team to complete the sweep with a 25-13 victory. Vanderhoof finished with five kills on seven attempts. D'Angelo dished 10 assists with five digs and two aces

• As a team, the Golden Eagles posted a .252 hitting percentage while holding the Panthers to -.081

• The hosts served nine aces to Purchase's one
