How it happened

  • The Valiants swept doubles play by scores of 6-2, 6-3, and 6-0 to take an early 1-0 match lead

  • Junior Rose Ruopoli claimed the Golden Eagles' lone point on the day with a win over MU's Mikhalia Grant in #6 singles. Ruopoli battled Grant to a 7-6 win with a 10-7 tie break in the first set before getting the 6-0 shutout in the second
