How it happened

• Sarah Lawrence saw the first scoring opportunity of the match in the 16th minute when Colvin launched a shot into the bottom left corner of the goal that Vahle turned away to keep the game scoreless
• The 32nd minute saw the first goal of the match when Beaver got past the back line and got the pass from Matalus to fire the shot past the keeper and take a one-goal lead into half
• The Golden Eagles looked to even the score early into the second half when Furey fired a shot into the bottom right corner of the goal, but Bella Veca was able to get in front to keep away
• With just nine minutes remaining in the match, Gambino provided the last opportunity to even the score for SJLI as the midfielder attempted a shot from just outside the box, but Vaca again turned it away to secure the victory for the Gryphons
