How it happened

• The Valiants wasted no time finding the scoring column when Kenneth Suqui netted the first goal of the match just 81 seconds into play
• Just over nine minutes later, a misplay on Manhattanville's back line saw Pensavalle take advantage of the opportunity and tie the game up at one apiece
• Pulisic put the Golden Eagles ahead at the 14th-minute mark when Pensavalle played a corner kick into the box that found the forward after a couple of deflections
• The Valiants would be awarded a penalty kick in the 29th minute that they would capitalize on to tie the game up at two, as the score would remain tied to end the half
