The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) women's basketball team continues its best start in program history with its sixth-straight win, 57-49 at FDU-Florham on Monday evening.

How it happened:

The Golden Eagles took a slight 10-9 advantage into the second quarter where Barone and Vitale combined for SJLI's first seven points of the frame for a 17-11 lead

FDU moved to within five, 20-15, with just under six minutes on the clock, but Barone sparked a 7-0 run giving the visitors their largest lead of the half, 27-15

The teams exchanged baskets down the stretch, but a bucket from Sierra as time expired sent the Golden Eagles into the locker rooms ahead, 29-18

St. Joseph's opened the third with back-to-back layups from Barone and Spina, 33-18, but FDU went on to outscore the Golden Eagles 18-16 in the frame though they still trailed 45-36

A three from Vitale six minutes into the fourth quarter put SJLI ahead by 14, 55-41, but the Devils continued to chip away 30 seconds later, a three from Centeno cut the deficit in half, 55-48

An FDU free throw and a layup from Emma Kelly capped the scoring in the final three minutes as the Golden Eagles held on for the 57-49 win
