The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's soccer team remained unbeaten in four straight wins, winning 3-0 on Saturday.

How it happened

  • The Pioneers were able to find the back of the net early when Fiorito got behind the SJLI backline and put it past the keeper off the pass from Lauren Hutchinson and Hailey Nelson to take a one-goal lead in the eighth minute
  • The Golden Eagles looked to find the equalizer late in the half as Sarah Manitlla turned away chances from Esposito and Urbancik to keep William Paterson ahead by one 
  • William Paterson stayed aggressive, wanting to add to their lead when Vahle saved Christina Jiminez's opportunity to keep St. Joseph's within a one-goal deficit  
  • Shots from Saravia, Martinez, and Gambino provided the Golden Eagles with a chance to tie the game but were unsuccessful as the Pioneers held on for the 1-0 victory
