The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's soccer team suffered their first loss of the season, 4-1, in a non-conference contest with Western Connecticut State University at Danzi Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

How it happened

• The Wolves were on the board early when Miranda Martincic put in a free kick deflection just under six minutes into the game

• WCSU's Suzana Imetovski added to lead after she beat the Golden Eagle defense on the far side for a 1 v 1 opportunity with the SJLI keeper and buried her shot in the bottom right corner in the 24th minute

• The visitors extended their lead when Adriana Alfano knocked in a goal just four minutes into the second half and Hannah Blacher scored in the 64th minute

• The Golden Eagles got on the board in the 77th minute when Gianna Gambino sent in a corner kick that was knocked in the net by a West Conn defender
