The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's volleyball team was swept, 3-0, by Stevens Insititute of Technology to start the 2025 season in the Danzi Center on Sunday afternoon.

After the Golden Eagles claimed the first three points of set one, the Ducks quickly answered with five straight. Stevens remained ahead reaching the 20-point mark first, 20-13, before cruising to a 25-16 win

Set two went point for point early on with SJLI leading 11-10, but the Ducks began to pull away with a 9-3 run to jump ahead 19-14. The visitors went on to take a 2-0 match lead with a 25-18 set win

The third frame did not see either side with a lead larger than three until the Golden Eagles broke an 11-11 stalemate with a 6-2 streak for a 17-13 advantage. The hosts held the lead until four unanswered points went in favor of the Ducks, 21-20. After a kill from Piscitelli evened the score at 21, Stevens got a kill from Carver Weirick and back-to-back aces from Koby Sherman to complete the sweep with a 25-21 win
