Men's Soccer Wins Skyline Conference Championship

The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's soccer team (No. 3) returned back to the Skyline Conference Championship and defeated the undefeated No. 1 seed Mount Saint Vincent at Marillac Field on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • St. Joseph's- L.I. kicked off the first half with sophomore Jack Pulisic scoring the first goal for the Golden Eagles 19 seconds in, assisted by sophomore Aidan Bayer and sophomore Jhon Garces.
  • Pulisic found the back of the net once more at 31:15, assisted by senior Sean Gordon.
  • The intensity of the match grew in the second half with both teams trying to score, but Mount Saint Vincent was able to put a goal up with a penalty kick in the 88th minute, making the score 2-1.
  • The Golden Eagles became victorious in the end winning the Skyline Conference Championship.

  • The Golden Eagles led in shots 14-12, 8-4 on goal.
  • SJLI led in corner kicks with 8-2.
  • Mount Saint Vincent's goalkeeper recorded six saves.
