Top Performers

  • Jaiden Gaston led the Golden Eagles with 19 points (6-for-6 from the free throw line and 3-for-8 beyond the arc, four rebounds, three steals, and an assist.

How It Happened

  • SJLI opened the game with a layup from Anthony Todd, but John Jay quickly responded with a three pointer and a good layup.
  • Both teams went back-and-forth, until the Golden Eagles took a four point scoring lead with a pair of free throws from Rodriguez and a jumper from Maxwell and Corey Sommervil.
  • With three minutes remaining and constant back-and-forth scoring from both teams, John Jay tied the score 22-22.
  • St. Joseph's was able to take the lead 29-27 at the end of the half with help from Gaston's three pointer and free throws from Hawkins and Maxwell.
  • The score remained close all throughout the second half, with both teams fighting to take the large lead.
  • SJLI took a six point lead towards the end of the half with six made free throws by Rodriguez, Gaston, and Todd.
  • SJLI finished with five made threes, 38 rebounds, and a +16 turnover margin, securing their second win at home.
