How It Happened
- SJLI opened the game with a layup from Anthony Todd, but John Jay quickly responded with a three pointer and a good layup.
- Both teams went back-and-forth, until the Golden Eagles took a four point scoring lead with a pair of free throws from Rodriguez and a jumper from Maxwell and Corey Sommervil.
- With three minutes remaining and constant back-and-forth scoring from both teams, John Jay tied the score 22-22.
- St. Joseph's was able to take the lead 29-27 at the end of the half with help from Gaston's three pointer and free throws from Hawkins and Maxwell.
- The score remained close all throughout the second half, with both teams fighting to take the large lead.
- SJLI took a six point lead towards the end of the half with six made free throws by Rodriguez, Gaston, and Todd.
- SJLI finished with five made threes, 38 rebounds, and a +16 turnover margin, securing their second win at home.
