The top-seeded St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's volleyball team advances in the Skyline Conference Championship with a semifinal sweep on #4 Manhattanville University in the Danzi Center on Thursday night. 

Records:

St. Joseph's (L.I.), 21-8; Manhattanville, 15-17

Top Performers:

• Junior Luke MacPherson knocked down a match-best 13 kills with a .619 hitting percentage while scooping up a match-high 13 digs 

• Senior Logan Meyer added nine kills, five digs, and two blocks

• Junior Hank Foglia finished with eight kills while hitting at a match-high .667 clip. The middle recorded a match-best nine kills

• Setter Will Kropp tossed 34 assists

• Kyle Simmons of Manhattanville finished with a team-best eight kills

How it happened:

• The Golden Eagles took a quick match lead with a 25-15 win in set one, hitting .556 as a team. MacPherson led with seven kills

• St. Joseph's jumped out to a 15-5 lead in set two and held the Valiants to single digits with a 25-7 win. Foglia finished with three kills on four tries and put up three blocks

• The final frame was played closely at the start, leading 14-13, back-to-back kills from AJ Esposito prompted Manhattanville to take a timeout. Out of the break, a kill from Meyer and an ace from MacPherson put the Golden Eagles ahead 18-13. Another kill from Meyer, followed by back-to-back aces from MacPherson extended the lead to 21-13. St. Joseph's held the Valiants to just two points down the stretch, clinching the sweep with a 25-15 win

• As a team, St. Joseph's (L.I.) hit .487 while holding Manhattanville to .010

• The Golden Eagles collected 42 digs and put up 12 total blocks. The Valiants finished with 32 digs and two total blocks
