The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's soccer team opened the 2025 season with a 1-1 draw against Eastern Connecticut State on Friday afternoon at Rick McCarthy Field.

- The Warriors jumped ahead just 3:36 into the contest when a Golden Eagles own goal gave Eastern Connecticut the early 1-0 advantage.
- St. Joseph's generated steady offensive pressure throughout the match, outshooting the Warriors 12-7 and holding a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.
- After several strong chances were denied by ECS goalkeeper Alex Ignatowicz, the Golden Eagles broke through late. In the 89th minute, Cagnetto found the back of the net with an unassisted strike to level the match at 1-1.
- Neither side could produce a winner in the closing minutes, sending St. Joseph's home with a point in its season opener.
