The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's soccer team opened the 2025 season with a 2-1 home victory against Hunter College on Saturday afternoon at Danzi Stadium.
Top Performers
- Sophomore Devin Seara led the way for the Golden Eagles with the first goal of the 2025 season at 19:39, assisted by Sophomore John Marquez.
- Sophomore Jack Pulisic scored the second goal of the game with help from freshman Dylan Guise, upping the score to 2-0 in the first half.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Vincent Graff tallied two saves while playing the full 90 minutes.
- The Hawks lone goal came in towards the end of the first half by Georgios Tisakas.
How It Happened
- The Golden Eagles made a statement in the first half by scoring two goals, and the St Joseph's (L.I.) defense denying the Hawks's attempts at scoring.
- St. Joseph's offense shined throughout the game, outshooting the Hawks 19-7 and leading in corner kicks 7-5.
- St Joseph's held up a strong defense in play, but broke at 41:12 with Hunter scoring their only goal, making the score 2-1.Â
