The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's soccer continues their winning streak at home in the victory against Old Westbury on Saturday afternoon.
 

Top Performers

How It Happened

  • St. Joseph's- L.I. started off the game strong on the offensive side but Old Westbury's defense was able to hold them off.
  • At 11:34 sophomore Jeremy Salazar scored the first goal of the game which started the offensive fire of the Golden Eagles. 
  • Senior Sean Gordon scored 12 minutes later with an assist from sophomore Jack Deutsch.
  • Right before the first half ended, the Panthers scored their first goal, making the score 2-1.
  • Old Westbury scored 12 minutes into the second half, three minutes later sophomore Aris Radillo added another goal for St. Joseph's.
  • Sophomore Jack Pulisic scored the final goal for the Golden Eagles in the 72nd minute, assisted by junior Ryan Kveton, earning their second win in a row with a score of 4-2.

  • The Golden Eagles led in shots 16-10, 11-8 on goal.
  • SJLI also led in corner kicks with 8-5.
  • Old Westbury led in saves 7-6.
  • The Panthers recorded two yellow cards and the Golden Eagles recorded one.

The Golden Eagles will continue home play facing Sarah Lawrence in a conference match up on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 6:00 PM.
