The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's soccer team snagged their first win of the season in their home opener on Saturday afternoon at Danzi stadium.

Top Performers

• Sophomore Sophia Cagnetto scored her first collegiate goal of the season at 70:17 in the second half.
• Senior Kristina Gambino led the Golden Eagles with two shots, including one on goal.
• Senior Kristin Vahle secured her first shutout of the season while tallying three saves while playing the full 90 minutes in goal.

How It Happened

• The first half was steady for both teams both offensively and defensively. 
• The Ducks led in shots throughout the match with eight, with three on goal which none landed in net being saved by Vahle.
• The scoreless game changed in the second half with the Golden Eagles scoring on a free kick by Cagnetto.
• The rest of the match remained steady with the Golden Eagles winning 1-0.

By the Numbers

• Stevens led the match in shots 8-3, and shots on goal 3-2.
• The Ducks also led 9-0 in corner kicks.
