The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) softball team earns their first victory of the season, 10-2, against Maine- Presque Isle on Tuesday morning.. 

Key Players:

• Junior Jacqueline Flannery led the Golden Eagles with four runs scored, four hits, and one RBI.
• Freshman Gianna Brown totaled one run scored, two hits, and two RBI's
• Senior Brooke Bove and finished with one hit, one run scored, and two RBI's
• Junior Alexandria LaBarba and junior Samantha Lugo both recorded two hits, one run scored, and one RBI.
• Junior Kate Smith and senior Katelyn Lysogorski both made one run each for the Golden Eagles.

How it happened:

• Me.-Presque Isle scored the first two runs of the game in the top of the first inning.
• St. Joseph's took the lead 3-2 in the bottom of the first inning, with three scoring plays in a row with runs from Flannery, Labarba, and Brown.
• Lysogorski scored from Flannery's single to right field, then Flannery went on to score from Bove's single to right field after advancing two bases off of the Owl's errors in the bottom of the second. Bove then scored to increase SJLI's lead 6-2.
• Both teams stayed quite for the third inning and the top of the fourth, but the Golden Eagles woke up in the bottom of the fourth scoring three runs.
• St. Joseph's closed the bottom of the fifth with Flannery scoring once again to bring the Golden Eagles's their first season victory 10-2.
