The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) softball team sweeps Sarah Lawrence on senior day on Sunday afternoon..

Game One: SJLI 9, Sarah Lawrence 0

How it happened:

  • St. Joseph's started game one by scoring six runs in the first inning, with Murphy and senior Katelyn Lysogorski both hitting doubles.
  • The Golden Eagles added two more runs scored from Bove and Busa in the second inning.
  • Murphy singled up the middle for Busa to score once again in the third inning, and SJLI held Sarah Lawrence scoreless throughout the rest of the game to take the 9-0 victory in game one. 

Game two: SJLI 11, Sarah Lawrence 1

Key Players:

  • Busa led the Golden Eagles with two runs scored, two hits, and one RBI.
  • Juniors Kristin Tellier and Alexandria LaBarba both recorded two runs scored, one hit, and two RBIs each.
  • Junior Amber Danz, Bove, and Lugo all tallied one run scored each.
  • Ehman totaled one run scored, two hits, and three RBIs.
  • Lysogorski accumulated one run scored, one hit, one RBI, and four strikeouts when on the mound.

How it happened:

  • St. Joseph's continued their hot streak scoring eight runs on five hits in the third inning, highlighted by two doubles from by Tellier and Ehman.
  • Sarah Lawrence scored their first run of the game in the top of the fourth inning, but the Golden Eagles answered back with three runs scored in the bottom of the fourth.
  • The Gryphons couldn't make a comeback and SJLI took the 11-1 victory in game two.
