New York, NY| Junior AJ Espoisito, senior Connor Ruais and Head Coach Bill Kropp of the St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's volleyball team claimed top honors when the Skyline Conference released its end-of-season men's volleyball awards on Tuesday afternoon. Esposito was dubbed Player of the Year, Ruais secured Libero of the Year, with Kropp being named Coach of the Year.
Senior Dominic Ruggiero and freshman Shaun Mischler joined Esposito and Ruais on the All-Conference First Team, with senior Chris Sarnicola and junior Declan Kerns landing on the All-Conference Second Team.
Esposito, earned Player of the Year honors after an impressive season. The Skyline Player of the Week appeared in 44 sets across 16 matches and finished the regular season with 117 kills, three assists, nine digs, 12 solo blocks, and 26 block assists.
Ruais, earned Libero of the Year honors after an impressive season. The multi-time Libero of the Week appeared in 87 sets across 27 matches and finished the regular season with one kill, 47 assists, and 250 digs.
Kropp earns his seventh Coach of the Year, fifth time in a row, recognition after leading the Golden Eagles to an 14-0 Skyline Conference record and clinching the one seed in the Skyline Conference Tournament.
Top-seeded St. Joseph's University- Long Island will host the fourth-seeded St. Joseph's University- Brooklyn in the Skyline Conference Semifinal match on Wednesday, April 8, start time 7:00 PM.
