Softball Ends Season with Loss to MSMC

Results:

The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) softball team ends their season falling to Mount Saint Mary on Saturday afternoon.

Game One: MSMC 12, SJLI 0

Key Players:

How it happened:

  • Mount Saint Mary found themselves on the scoreboard early with three runs scored in the first inning.
  • The Knights scored eight runs in the second inning to advance their lead 11-0.
  • MSMC prevented SJLI from making any runs and scored one run in the bottom of the third to secure their first win of the day 12-0.

Game two: MSMC 11, SJLI 3

Key Players:

  • Busa led the Golden Eagles with two runs scored and one hit.
  • Junior Alexandria LaBarba tallied one run, two hits, and two RBIs.
  • Murphy recorded one RBI for the Golden Eagles.

How it happened:

  • St. Joseph's opened the game with Busa scoring the first run of the game. Mount Saint Mary answered with two runs scored in the bottom of the first inning.
  • The Knights scored three runs in the second inning to extend their lead 5-1. 
  • LaBarba hit a home run for her and Busa to score in the third inning, which MSMC answered with one run scored.
  • Mount Saint Mary continued their scoring streak adding one run in the fourth inning and four runs in the fifth inning to secure the 11-3 win.
