Women's Tennis Downed in Season Opener

When and Where:

September 9, 2026 – The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's tennis team fell to Hunter College, 7-0, on Wednesday.

How It Happened:

  • Hunter opened the match by taking all three doubles contests. Allison Goodyear and Amadna Andree fell at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, while Emily Messana and Kaitlyn Russo dropped No. 3 doubles by the same score. Rachel Wind and Victoria Arent put together the closest doubles match, falling 7-5 at No. 2.
  • The Hawks continued their strong play in singles, earning straight-set victories at all six positions. Goodyear battled at No. 1 singles before falling, 6-2, 6-1, while Arent put up a fight in the second set at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-4.
