Prentice Small

St. Joseph’s College (L.I.) men’s basketball head coach Kevin Spann announced the hiring of assistant coach Prentice Small in Sepetmeber, 2015.

A three-year veteran of overseas professional basketball, Small earned a full NCAA Division I scholarship to play four seasons at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA from 2007 to 2011. Small, who won a Patriot League title with the Mountain Hawks in 2007, owns two school records, including most points scored in a collegiate debut (13) and most points scored off the bench in one game (19).

After college, Small was selected to play on the Roosevelt Bouie All-Star Team and completed a tour through Italy in 2011. Small would later spend a season in the ABA with the Jersey Shore Express where he averaged 21 points and eight assists per game.

In 2012-13, Small competed in the British Basketball League with the Plymouth Raiders where he was selected to participate in the Basketball Days Tournament in Zwolle, Netherlands.

Small returned to the States for the 2013-14 season and joined the South Florida Spartans of the upstart CBL.

Since September 2013, Small has worked as a basketball trainer at Basketball Results in North Babylon, NY. He also served as a camp trainer at the Danny Green Skills Academy in North Babylon from June 2011 to June 2013.

A 2011 graduate of Lehigh University with a Bachelor's in journalism, Small currently resides in North Babylon, NY.
