The St. Joseph's University-New York (L.I.) women's basketball team bounced back with a 61-42 Skyline Conference win at the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Tuesday evening.

Senior Lanyah Ford recorded a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds while adding three assists

Junior Felicia Barreiros pitched in with 15 points going 5-for-8 from the field, 4-for-7 from three-point range

Graduate Julianna Knice and senior Catherine Siounis added eight points apiece with Knice dishing a game-best four assists

How it happened:

Ford and Barreiros combined for the game's first 17 points of the game and the Golden Eagles limited the Mariners to just four points in the opening quarter

Trailing 20-4 to start the second, USMMA scored six of the first seven points to cut their deficit to 11, 21-10, but SJLI held the hosts to just four points through the latter half of the frame and went into the break leading 32-14

St. Joseph's built their largest lead of the night, 52-24, following a three from Knice and a layup from Ford with just over a minute in the third quarter and went into the final frame ahead 54-28

The Mariners outscored the Golden Eagles 14-7 in the fourth, but it wasn't enough as the visitors took home the 61-42 win
