The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) men's basketball collected their first Skyline Conference win of the season with an 81-66 victory over OldWestbury on Tuesday evening.

Junior Alec Tabada led the game in scoring with 23 points, to go along with six rebounds, three assists, three blocks and five steals

How it happened:

Old Westbury jumped out to an early lead, taking an 11-4 lead with just over six minutes of action played before the Golden Eagles cut the lead to just one just a minute later

The Panther again would rally, scoring nine straight points off of three-pointers to again take a six-point at just over the midway point of the first half

As SJLI trailed by three with five minutes remaining in the first half, Roy would find space from beyond the arc off the pass from Malloy to tie the game at 22
-
Another pair of free throws in the final minute from Allen tied the game as both teams entered half, even at 28

St. Joseph's started the second half in a groove as they rattled off an 11-4 run that was capped off by a Roy and-one layup that was converted at the line

Ryan McNeely would fine Tabada open for three, which the junior would capitalize on to give SJLI their largest lead of the game, 11 points, at the halfway point of the game

Old Westbury would go on a run of their own as they cut the lead down to just three with seven minutes to go

In the final seven minutes of the game, the Golden Eagles would score 28 points and hold the Panthers to just 16 points to take home the victory
