Women's Volleyball Sweeps Old Westbury

The St. Joseph's University-New York (L.I.) women's volleyball team picked up a 3-0 Skyline Conference sweep at SUNY Old Westbury on Tuesday evening.

How it happened
  • After an exchange of points opened the match early in set one, the Golden Eagles strung together four unanswered points book ended by aces from Luciana D'Ambrosio to create some distance, 14-6. SJLI would go on to lead by as many as eight en route to a 25-20 win

  • St. Joseph's held a slight two-point advantage, 9-7, in set two, but went on to turn it up in the later half of the frame cruising to a 25-14 win. Wolf served three aces and knocked down a pair of kills

  • The Golden Eagles kept rolling into set three jumping out to an 11-0 lead before completing the sweep with a 25-13 win.

  • As a team, the Golden Eagles posted a .267 hitting percentage while the Panthers were held to -.067

  • SJLI served 11 aces to the host's seven and the visitors put up four total blocks to OW's two
