The St. Joseph's University-New York (L.I.) women's volleyball team split a pair a matches at Mt. St. Mary College on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles earned a Skyline Conference sweep of the Knights before falling to King's College, 3-0, in a non-conference match.

The Golden Eagles trailed late in set one, 20-16, but then rattled off seven unanswered points to go ahead 23-20. Following an exchange of points, SJLI had the first set-point opportunity, but the Knights would not go down and knot the score at 24. A kill from Wolf put the advantage in favor of St. Joseph's, 25-24, and a block in the middle by freshman Sarah Hansen secured the 26-24 win

After breaking a 2-2 stalemate, SJLI would lead throughout the rest of set two en route to a 25-18 win

The Golden Eagles held the advantage through most of the third frame, but the Knights chipped away to even the score at 20. But that's as far as they would get as the final five points went in favor of St. Joseph's and the visitors completed the sweep with a 25-20 win

Set one opened with both sides going point for point until three straight kills in favor of the Golden Eagles created a bit of distance, 17-13. The Monarchs eventually caught up tying the set at 20. It went back and forth down the stretch, but King's closed the set with three unanswered points for the 27-25 win

The teams were even at 17 in the second frame when kills from Wolf and D'Ambrosio along with a KIng's attack error had the Golden Eagles ahead 20-17. But the Monarchs went on a 6-0 run to jump ahead 23-20 before taking a 2-0 match lead with a 25-22 victory

St. Joseph's claimed the first five points in set three maintaining a lead until four unanswered points put King's ahead 15-13 at the midway point. THe teams exchanged leads for the remainder of the set, but it was the Monarchs who came away with the 25-23 win
