How it happened

• The Knights pulled ahead early with the match's first goal as Victoria Maffettone got past the backline and beat the keeper; Mt. St. Mary would hold SJLI off the scoreboard for the first half
• In the first five minutes of play out of the half, Furey found the back of the net off a big kick from outside of the hox to put it over the keeper's head off the pass from Ruffini and tie the game at one
• Just two minutes later, Ruffini again played an overhead through ball that allowed Farrington to outrun the Knights's backline and chip it over the keeper to give SJLI their first lead of the match
• Later in the half, Pasciuta would find the back of the net off the pass from Melendez to take a commanding 3-1 lead with just under 12 minutes of action left
• Mt. St. Mary looked to fight their way back into the game when Kaitlin Hansen scored one minute after Pasciuta, but it wasn't enough as the Golden Eagles held on for a crucial victory
