Top performers

• Freshman Marc Tolkin led the Golden Eagles with two goals scored, both coming from penalty kicks
• Senior James Dacos scored the game-winning goal, playing the full 90 minutes

How it happened

• As neither team could gain an edge on the scoreboard for most of the first half, it was the Bears in the 37th minute who struck first when Diego Volpe secured the first goal of the match
• In the second half, as the Golden Eagles trailed, Tolkin was awarded a penalty kick, which the forward capitalized on to even the score at one
• Just five minutes later, SJBK found the back of the net again when Matthew Cottone struck the back of the net off a pass from Pablo Mejia and Joaquin Franco to pull the Bears ahead one
• SJLI looked to tie the game late when Tolkin was tackled in the box by the keeper to award another penalty kick, which the striker again capitalized on to even the score at two with just five minutes left to play
• With just over a minute left in the game, the Golden Eagles were awarded a free kick from just outside the box that Dacos would find the back of the net on to secure the 3-2 victory for St. Joseph's Long Island
