Top performers

• Senior Giuseppe Vitale led the Golden Eagles with seven saves in the match, collecting another shutout
• Freshman Jack Pulisic provided the lone goal for the Golden Eagles with two shots on goal
• Freshman Marc Tolkin added one assist on Pulisic's goal, contributing two shots on goal as well

How it happened

• The Bears looked to strike first as Victor Naci provided two shots early but was turned away by Vitale's efforts to keep the game even
• With just five minutes left in the first half James Dacos got past the backline to put a shot on goal but was tunred away by the Bear's keeper to keep the game scoreless at half
• As the second half got underway strong defensive efforts from both teams, neither team was able to gain an edge through the first 20 minutes of action
• The Golden Eagles found the back of the net in the 75th minute when a Tolkin streaking down the left side played a cross into the middle of the box that found the head of Pulisic to give SJLI the lead 
• As the game was coming to a close, SJBK looked to even the score and keep their season alive as Matthew Kieblesz provided one last scoring opportunity for the Bears but Vitale made another big save to clinch the win for the Golden Eagles
