After the Mariners claimed a convincing 25-13 win in set one, the Golden Eagles kept it close in set two. The frame saw 12 tied scores and 10 lead changes, but it was the visitors reaching 20 first via a kill from Jenny Dyke. The sides exchanged points until a Mariner block positioned the visitors for their first set-point, 24-21. Wolf knocked down a kill inching the hosts closer, but USMMA held on for the 25-22 win

The first five points favored the Mariners, but St. Joseph's chipped away ultimately knotting the score at 11. Again, the two sides traded points, though this time, the hosts were first to set point, 24-22, however, USMMA would not go away securing the next two points, 24-24. Following another exchange, a kill from USMMA's Kylie Creech and an ace from Elizabeth Kay secured the 28-26 win
