How it happened:

The Golden Eagles scored first and fast with senior Isabella Stevens with a layup just five seconds into the game

A three from Twohig gave SJLI their first double-digit lead, 13-3, with just over six minutes left in the first

That lead doubled to 20, 26-6, when Spina hit from long range at the 1:41 mark and again at the close of the quarter, 29-9
-
The Golden Eagles took their largest lead of the half, 32-9, about a minute into the second frame when a steal from Vitale led to a three from Barreiros

The visitors maintained a healthy lead throughout the quarter to take a 45-27 advantage into the break

Both teams dropped 17 points in the third quarter and headed into the final frame at 62-44

After a three from Vitale started the fourth, the SJBK's A Telford hit a second-chance bucket and a free throw dropping their deficit to 18, 65-47

Minutes later, a layup from Spina put the lead back up to 20 and it would not dip below that mark for the remainder of the game and the Golden Eagles came away with the 84-57 win
