The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's and women's cross-country competed in the Skyline Conference Championships at Bethpage State Park on Sunday afternoon. The men's team came away with a second-place finish with the women's team finishing fifth.
Top performers

Freshman Evan Skoblicki was the top finisher for the Golden Eagles in the 8K race crossing the line sixth overall with a time of 27:29.1

Junior Jimmy Mintel followed turning in a time of 28:07.7 to place 11th overall

Sophomore Ryan Steinberg rounded out SJLI's top three clocking in at 28:11.9 and a 12th-place finish

On the women's side, freshman Elizabeth Kurka paced the Golden Eagles in the 6K race crossing fifth overall with a time of 25:52.3

Seniors Emily Medina and Caroline O'Dea finished 21st and 27th with times of 29:03.2 and 29:56.0, respectively

As a team, the men placed second overall finishing behind only USMMA with Farmingdale St. rounding out the top three

The women finished fifth overall with USMMA, SUMY Maritime, and Mt. St. Mary College claiming the top three spots

Both Kurka and Skoblicki were named Skyline Rookie of the Year and landed on the All-Conference first-team
