Women's Volleyball Swept by Manhattanville

The St. Joseph's University-New York (L.I.) women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to Skyline-leading Manhattanville University in the Danzi Center on Tuesday night.

Top Performers
  • Senior Jackie Wolf finished with a team-high 11 kills while adding 12 digs 

  • Setter Katie D'Angelo dished 19 assists, collected 11 digs with five kills

  • Libero Sarah Montefusco rounded up a team-high 21 digs

How it happened
  • The Golden Eagles were held to a .031 hitting percentage in the opening set that saw the Valiants handle easily with a 25-13 win

  • Set two was held close early with the teams deadlocked at 9 before Mahattanville pulled away around the midway points before taking a 2-0 match lead with a 25-19 victory

  • SJLI led early on in the final frame but were unable to hold the Valiants off as they caught the hosts at 13 before creating some distance at 20-15. The Golden Eagles never rallied back as the visitors completed the sweep with a 25-20 win

Notes
  • As a team, the Golden Eagles posted a .077 hitting percentage while the Valiants finished at .223

  • MU totaled 10 service aces with SJLI producing just two.
