Skyline Sweep for Men's Volleyball, 3-0 over Ramapo

Results:

The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's volleyball took home a 3-0 Skyline Conference win from Ramapo College on Wednesday evening

Records:

St. Joseph's (L.I.), 18-6, 13-1 Skyline; Ramapo 14-6, 11-2 Skyline

Top Performers:

  • Senior Mark Williams recorded a match-best 12 kills and finished with two blocks and two digs

  • Senior Tyler Anderson finished in double figures with 10 kills with six digs

  • Senior Quinn Foglia totaled five kills and had a hand in five blocks

  • Setter CJ Johnson tossed a match-high 36 assists and picked up 10 digs

  • Libero Joe Pinner also scooped up 10 digs

How it happened:

  • The Golden Eagles led wire-to-wire in set one and with their best hitting performance of the night, .421, took a 25-11 win

  • The second frame was played closely with SJLI holding a slight 24-22 lead late in the set before a Ramapo service error gave the Golden Eagles the 25-22 win. Williams knocked down seven kills with Anderson finishing with five

  • A 25-15 win in set three secured the sweep for St. Joseph's. Sophomore Luke MacPherson led the attack with four kills with Williams and Anderson pitching in with three

Notes:

  • As a team, St. Joseph's (L.I.) hit .345 while Ramapo finished at .040

  • The Golden Eagles totaled nine total blocks to the hosts' three

The Golden Eagles return to the Danzi Center and host Buffalo State for a non-conference match on Friday, March 29th at 7:00 pm.
