Seventh Straight Sweep for Men's Volleyball, 3-0 Against Buffalo

Results:

The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's volleyball claimed a 3-0 non-conference win against Buffalo State College on Friday evening.

Records:

St. Joseph's (L.I.), 19-6; Buffalo St. 13-13

Top Performers:

  • Senior Mark Williams recorded a match-best 11 kills and finished with four digs and three assists

  • Sophomore Luke MacPerson finished with seven kills while recording five blocks and four digs

  • Senior Quinn Foglia totaled four kills and had a hand in four blocks

  • Setter CJ Johnson tossed 26 assists with five kills and picked up five digs

How it happened:

  • The first set was tied at 16 before four of the following five points went in favor of the Golden Eagles. Leading 23-19 kills from Foglia, Q., MacPherson, and Hank Foglia gave the hosts the 25-19 win

  • St. Joseph's pulled away early in the second set and did not let the Bengals back within five taking a 2-0 match lead with a 25-15 win

  • A 25-16 win in set three secured the sweep for St. Joseph's who out-killed Buffalo 12-8 while putting up four blocks

Notes:

  • As a team, St. Joseph's (L.I.) hit .394 while Buffalo finished at .071

  • The Golden Eagles totaled 12 total blocks to the Bengals' three
