The St. Joseph's University-New York (L.I.) women's volleyball team dropped a pair of non-conference matches to UMASS-Boston, 3-0, and New York University, 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.

After trailing early, the Golden Eagles worked their way back to tie set one at 16. UMASS managed to hold on down the stretch for the 25-22 win

Set two was a back-and-forth battle from the start with neither side leading by more than three until SJLI grabbed a 23-19 advantage. The Beacons came back to knot the score at 23 before both sides traded points with back-to-back aces by UMASS' Paige Coulson ultimately clinching the set 31-29
