The Golden Eagles held an early lead in the opening frame, 8-3, but the Hawks chipped away to even the score at 14. The sides exchanged leads down the stretch but an ace from Hunter's Izabella Williams secured the 26-24 win

Set two was tied at 10 before a 9-0 run put the Hawks ahead 19-10 en route to a 25-21 win and a 2-0 match lead

The third set was closely played throughout with nine tied scores and four lead changes. Carney knocked down her six kills of the frame to put SJLI ahead 24-3, but three unanswered kills by the Hawks secured the sweep with a 26-24 win
