The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's soccer team faced off against New Jersey City, where they played to a 2-2 draw. 

Top performers

  • Senior Daniel Dacos matched a team-high with three shots and one shot on goal to collect his first goal of the season
  • Freshman Jack Pulisic scored his second goal of the season with one shot on goal
  • Junior Diego Saravia secured one assist
  • NJCU's Kevin Alves and Luigi Polynice finished with one goal each

How it happened

  • The Golden Eagles found the back of the net early as Pulisic scored just four minutes into the match to take an early 1-0 lead
  • New Jersey City answered back quickly as they tied the game just over 90 seconds later when a through ball from Duarte found the feet of Polynice, who beat Vitale to the left side of the net
  • As both teams entered the second half with one goal scored each, the Gothic Knights, Alves pulled NJCU ahead off the assist from Mauricio just five minutes into the second half
  • After almost 20 minutes of action, St. Joseph's was able to tie the game once again when a cross from Saravia found the head of Dacos, who was left alone in the middle of the box to put it past the keeper to tie the game at two and secure a draw for both teams

  • SJLI had 14 shots to NJCU's 16
  • The Gothic Knights totaled five corner kicks to the Golden Eagles two
  • One yellow card each was issued for each team
