Graduate student Katie D'Angelo of the St. Joseph's University-New York (L.I.) women's volleyball team recorded her 1,000th career assist in a 3-0 non-conference win over Brooklyn College in the Danzi Center on Thursday evening.

• D'Angelo finished with 32 assists on the night while adding five service aces

• Sophomore Nina Vanderhoof and junior Luciana D'Ambrosio both finished with a match-best nine kills

• Senior Deirdre Carney recorded eight kills 

• Libero Sarah Montefusco picked up a team-best 14 digs

How it happened

• The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early 12-0 lead hitting .407 as a team en route to a 25-10 win in set one

• Set two was played closely with the Bulldogs within striking distance knotting the score at 17. The Golden Eagles answered with three quick points creating some breathing room before claiming the set, 25-19

• St. Joesph's maintained momentum in the final frame building a 10-point lead at the midway point, 16-6. Brooklyn chipped away just a bit, but the host went on to complete the sweep with a 25-15 win
